Structuring and Using Editor Tools

To improve organization, teachers can group questions using the following tools: 

Add Exam Section 

  • Organizes questions by topic. 
  • Each exam can have multiple sections. 
  • Teachers can assign different weights to sections. 

Add Question 

  • Adds a new question within a section. 
  • Teachers can select the topic and question type. 

Add Item 

  • Supports adding images, notes, or explanations. 
  • Useful for diagram-based questions or additional reading.

Assessr provides a flexible question editor that supports organizing questions into sections, adding math expressions, formatting text, and embedding multimedia. This guide walks through the tools available to structure your exams effectively.

  1. In the Create Exam page, you can organize your exam by adding sections for different topics or types, insert items like diagrams or notes, and add questions within each section to build a structured, easy-to-follow exam.
  2. To add a section Click "Add exam section"

  3. To add an item Click "Add item"
  4. After adding your item, you can update its title by clicking on the existing title text.
  5. Once you're done, you’ll see the updated title reflected in the Exam Structure Panel.
  6. This is the Exam Structure Panel, it outlines how your exam is organized. You can drag and drop to rearrange sections and items as needed.
  7. Let’s get back to your item. Here, you can add notes, descriptions, pretext, or any important details students need to know about the question. Click "A"  to add subtext.
  8. Start adding your details
  9. Make any necessary changes. you can add tables, images, links, math equations, or anything else to support the question.
  10. For Maths, click the long division icon to insert any simple or advanced equations.
  11. Add your equation and click "insert"
  12. Click "Insert"
  13. Alternatively, you can draw your equation, click the icon shown below to start drawing.

  16. Click the menu icon to view more details and options.
  17. Select the one you want to use and continue.
  18. As an extra tip, you can drag question or item cards using the menu icon, as shown.
